Bianca and Tango
Since 1995, Bianca has studied the art form of Argentine Tango, having visited Buenos Aires regularly, to deepen her knowledge and apreciation of the dance. Her most profound studies were with arguably the greatest master, teacher and dancer of Argentine Tango, Gustavo Naveira, one of the main founders of 'Tango Nuevo' who appears in the film The Tango Lesson. Over the years, Bianca has developed her own meticulously structured method of teching Tango, informed by the wealth of her knowledge and experience in dance and other related disciplines.
Since 1998, Bianca has taught thousands of students through weekly group classes, workshops, courses, as well as through other events under the banner of Rojo y Negro, her Tango school. She has been teaching structured Tango courses in City Literary institute and Bishopsgate institute since 2001, and as a guest teacher works for Middlesex University, dance agencies and for other Tango schools around the country.
Bianca had partnered in teaching and performing many Argentine professional dancers of different styles in the UK and abroad, including Federico Guerin (Paris), Diego Calarco (Buenos Aires), Mauricio Castro (Buenos Aires), Hector Villalba (Buenos Aires), Ismael Ludman (Buenos Aires) and Juan Manuel Acosta (Buenos Aires).
Other Tango achievements:
- Bianca's Rojo y Negro school was the organiser and sponsor of the successful Richmond Tango festival in September 2004.
- Bianca has made many choreographies for theatre plays and weddings.
- She has helped Chriss Moss produce a compilation 'Beginner's guide to Tango' for Demon record company in 2004.
- Bianca has also choreographed, produced, co-directed and edited the short Tango dance film Tango for life, in which she also danced, filmed in Buenos Aires in 2005.
- In 2006, she was invited to appear in Channel five's second series of the prime-time show Make me a Supermodel and its sister production Make me a Supermodel:Extra, as a guest teacher and dancer.
- In 2007, Bianca released a Tango beginners' DVD, the first in a series of educational Argentine Tango DVDs, targeted explicitly at those new to Tango, as well as those eager to revisit and brush up their basics.
